Benjamin

Here is my latest painting, this time an Owl for a new friend of mine.
We figured the owl needed a classic scholarly name and Benjamin seemed to fit just fine.

three minutes and twenty four seconds of being at green lake

I just got back from a week at the ol' cabin, and what a wonderful week it was. I brought the camera along and filmed each day trying to capture this place that I've spent countless summers.

Great Lake Swimmers "Pulling On A Line" from LOST CHANNELS

The band Great Lake Swimmers was gracious enough to let me use their song "Pulling On A Line" and I greatly appreciate it. They are oh so good and I highly recommend you check them out! www.greatlakeswimmers.com
I'll post a larger quicktime version shortly.

30 Seconds of Being Outside - Episodes 1,2,3

Here is a short series of videos I made at the beginning of summer. The intent was to get people to stop and enjoy the beauty that is all around. If they couldn't get outside in the beautiful weather for at least 30 seconds, they could watch this and hopefully it would motivate them to do so.
I hope you enjoy them!

Another painting for a brother.

Here is a birthday present my sister Amanda and I made for our dear friend David Menzel. He really wants to do battle with a real live beast at some time in his life so here is what it might look like. Armed with only an exacto-knife and his courage, he wanders out into the african savannah only to come across what truly is the King of Beasts.

Field Testing

Here is some test footage taken with the HVX200 and my homemade Mini35/DoF adapter
"AF-S35"
Please not that I still need to find a better material for my focusing screen but, considering its made from all found parts, it does just fine.
I hope you enjoy it!

**This is not for commercial use, if you feel that I have used your music in the wrong context, or are sad at me for using it without permission, I am deeply sorry, I just love it sooooo much.
If you wish to know, the song is called "Gypsy Melodies" by The Snake the Cross the Crown. They are incredible.

Here is my first completed painting.
The story is, The Giant Squid has gotten wise to the way of the world and lures ususpecting prey by shaking a dummy resembling a human in distress.
Oh, if he only knew...
Here it is on the wall above our dinner table.

Homemade 35mm Adapter!

So this is a project I've been working on in my spare time for a while now, and now with the purchase of a new HD camera, the project has picked up some speed. The Idea was to make an adapter for the video camera so it is capable of using 35mm Film Lenses. After all the research and searching for parts, I have some results that I am quite happy with.
Here are some images from the first tests of the AF-S35.

*Note: the grit and dirt you see in the images is not on the lens, its on the piece of plastic (soon to be replaced with glass) that the lens projects the image onto. If I get a proper focusing screen or piece of ground glass, the dirt and scratches will not be seen.

Shot on the Panasonic HVX-200 with a 50mm Konica.

More tests and video coming soon!

Concept Art

I just got a tablet from a very talented friend of mine, Justin Beckett (www.conception-studio.com), he is a photographer, painter, and very cool dude.
I started playing around with the tablet and this is what showed up on my screen after a while, its a shot from a scene that has been playing in my brain for the past month or so.

And here we go!

Alrighty, setting this up was much easier than I thought it would be, even easier than Azam said!
Over the course of this page's life you'll see photographs, videos, paintings, drawings, and pretty much anything that I have sitting around that I wouldn't mind people seeing. I hope you enjoy your stay!
